On November 7, 2023, Sabrina Teitelbaum—who performs under the moniker Blondshell—opened for Liz Phair at The Magnolia in El Cajon, kicking off a month-long run supporting the rock musician. The singer’s band consists of Jeff Frantom on guitar, Anna Crane on drums, and Charlie Ellis on bass.

Teitelbaum played tracks from her self-titled debut album (released in April), her alt-rock music dancing between melancholy and tempestuous. She twirled across the stage, her voice full and almost haunting. A drum-heavy cover of “Deceptacon” by Le Tigre brought the crowd something familiar, but Teitelbaum’s bombastic penultimate song “Salad” was the standout of the night. Teitelbaum kicked off her run with Liz Phair with a display of her strong vocals and talented band.
